Our first date was at Walt Disney World - Epcot, during the annual food and wine festival. We spent the entire day doing our favorite thing, eating! And of course, as true foodies, we judged every food station like we were on an episode of the Master Chef. After a few hours, we made our way to the food station at the Italian Pavilion. We decided to sit down and chat. We seemed to lose track of time as we discussed our hobbies, dreams, family, and the fact that the pasta at the Italy station was not, in fact, al dente. We were so engaged in conversation that the loud crowds completely faded into the background, making us feel like we were the only two at Epcot. In fact, we were so lost in our conversation that we did not realize it had started to rain. It was at that moment that we both realized we had something special.

James had planned to take me to lunch on the last day of our trip to Italy to spend one-on-one time together. Knowing it was a picturesque location, we dressed up for the occasion. As we were leaving our hotel to hail a taxi, the hotelier suggested a better restaurant for us to try. He offered to call his friend to make a reservation for us. James quickly agreed, and we immediately changed our plans. Those who know me, I was completely thrown off by this change in our pre-made plans. As we drove through Rome, we noticed a large crowd in the distance. As we got closer, we realized Pope Francis was passing us in his motorcade. After that exciting encounter, we arrived at our destination. A woman greeted us at the door and showed us to a table on the rooftop. After climbing several flights of stairs and finally reaching the rooftop, we saw there was only a bartender there. The hostess informed us that our table was actually on the floor above us, so we ascended a spiral staircase with a breathtaking view of Rome. When we reached the top, James had laid out hundreds of Rose petals and a sign that read, "Marry Me." After the beautiful proposal and a few moments to bask in the moment, we were then joined by our parents, friends, and family on the rooftop in Rome, Italy!
