A park entrance fee or valid park pass is always required to enter the park. A timed entry reservation is also required to enter RMNP during certain hours of the day. There are two different types of reservations available: - Timed Entry (does not include access to Bear Lake Road) from 9 am to 2 pm - Timed Entry + Bear Lake Road from 5 am to 6 pm All timed entry reservations allow park visitors to enter RMNP within designated 2-hour windows of time. Once you enter the park, stay as long as you like. There is no set time for departure. You can enter RMNP without a timed entry reservation and visit most areas if you enter the park before 9 am or after 2 pm.
Brainard Lake Recreation Area is set in a glacially carved valley offering visitors spectacular panoramic views of Brainard Lake, surrounding subalpine forest, and high peaks along the Continental Divide. A parking reservation is required to park inside Brainard Lake Recreation Area. Parking reservations are available starting 14 days prior to the visiting date on a first-come, first-served basis, and are available online up until the entry date, entry time and parking lot available (if not sold out).
