Airports, Lodging, & Getting Around the Key!

Flight

Tampa International Airport

The Tampa Airport is a 2 hour and 15 minute drive to Cedar Key, easy highway driving.

Flight

Orlando International Airport or Sanford Airport

Orlando International or MCO/Sanford are about a 3 hour drive to Cedar Key. Buckle up because traffic can be really nasty, and particularly nasty if you are going to be driving after 3pm on Friday.

Flight

Gainesville or Ocala Airports

These are solid options about an 45 minutes to an hour from the venue. However, for those coming from Colorado, New York, or Indiana - you will experience a layover as they don't do many nonstop flights.

Travel Note

Getting Around Cedar Key is easiest by Golf Cart!

Be sure to rent in advance. This is just ONE of many rental companies.

AIRBNB Is your Best Friend

Cedar Key was dramatically impacted by Hurricane Helene. One of the reasons we chose Cedar Key was because we wanted to put our money where the relief was at: The Key. So, most hotels are not up and running and Cedar Key is remote and unspoiled. What does that mean? It means you wont find fancy or chain hotels. Airbnb and VRBO are your best options for staying on Cedar Key. Anywhere that is not Cedar Key is a farther drive than you think.
