all of you will be traveling from afar and many are turning this into a bigger adventure. we’d love to have everyone together from saturday, june 20th, to tuesday, june 23rd, to make the most of our time together. if you’re planning to extend your stay and arrive earlier or depart later, feel free to adjust your plans around these dates.
there are two airport options for getting to vancouver island: ✈️ victoria international airport (YYJ): this is the closest and most convenient option. it may cost a bit more, but it saves a lot of time and hassle. ⛴️ vancouver international airport (YVR): located on the mainland. you’ll need to take a train, bus, and a 1.5-hour ferry (~$20 without a car) to reach the island. it’s only worth it if the savings are significant.
flights open around 11 months out, so we recommend keeping an eye on prices starting august 2025. with the world cup happening, flights may book up fast or get pricey, so the earlier, the better! we’ll also be monitoring deals and are happy to help. try google flights or skyscanner, and sign up for weekly price alerts to track changes.
we’ve secured a hotel block at solo suites in langford, just outside victoria, for 3 nights (6/20 to 6/23) - with a mix of suite types. you will pay us directly, not the hotel. we will message everyone directly with the information :)
we’ve planned an incredibly intimate weekend to celebrate our love, which means our guest list is small and thoughtfully curated. if a +1 was included on your invitation, we’ve set space aside for them, otherwise, we’re unable to extend additional invites. we hope you understand the intention behind keeping things close. please RSVP by september 30th at the latest, and if you’re attending, we kindly ask that you send your accommodation payment along with your confirmation. if you already know you won’t be able to join us, we’d be so grateful if you could let us know as soon as possible, this helps us offer the spot to another loved one.
if you’d like to rent one for your trip, please let us know! we’ll coordinate carpool options to help split costs and avoid any unnecessary expenses wherever possible. please keep in mind that the wedding is during the world cup and rental car prices may reflect this, but we might be safe on the island.
our ceremony will be held in a beautiful tree-surrounded venue in the forest. given the pacific northwest’s reputation for unpredictable weather, there’s a chance of rain. in mid-june, sooke is typically experiences average high temperatures around 15°C (59°F) and lows near 9°C (48°F). we recommend bringing something warmer for when the sun goes down. think comfortable yet polished outfits that fit the natural, outdoor setting. while earthy tones like greens, browns, creams, and terracottas would beautifully complement the surroundings, they’re not mandatory... wear what makes you feel great (except for jeans please, lol). if you're wearing heels, we recommend block heels or wedges since they tend to do better on grassy areas.
your presence truly is the greatest gift we could ask for ✨ we’re so grateful you’re making the journey to celebrate with us, and that’s more than enough. but, if you feel called to give something extra, a contribution to our honeymoon fund would help us create even more memories after the celebration. 🌿💕 no boxes, no bows, just a little more adventure.
we’re planning an exciting weekend filled with activities for whoever would like to take part! we’re exploring options for a group hike or two. we are also still deciding between having either a joint bachelor/bachelorette party or a separate one, which would most likely be the saturday evening. we’ll share all the details closer to the date so you’ll have plenty of time to plan!
