This is a great area to hang out, with a sand volleyball court, a small park and it’s right next to the river. People will rent intertubes and float down the river in the summer. You’d likely be able to do this in May with how little snow we got this winter. It’s also a great place to go if you want to walk along clear creek canyon path, which is cool and shaded most of the day.
Explore the iconic amphitheater and nearby trails. Most of the trails nearby are fairly moderate. This stop is a great way to kill "2 birds with one stone" - the tourist attraction of the amphitheater and a hike!
This is a top tourist spot, so you're guaranteed not to be alone. Be prepared to pay for parking, but it is one of the best "bang for your buck" spots for a short hike to a beautiful hike to a alpine lake below a glacier. Our advice would be to get there early before the crowds, or make it a sunset trip! Extra points if you spot a skier up on the glacier.
This can be an easy-moderate hike depending on how far you go. We say it is worth it to hike to the top of North Table for some great view though. We'd highly recommend combining this with a stop at New Terrain Brewing at the base of North Table for some great food trucks and in-house brewed beer.
