Like most young, wild, and carefree adolescents, we met at a party. It just so happened to be a Mardis Gras themed party I was hosting for my sister's college graduation. He challenged me to a one-on-one beer pong game. I accepted the challenge, and although it was a close game, I ultimately lost. He asked me for a kiss as his reward for winning, so I kissed him on the cheek. That probably wasn't what he had in mind.
We started a tradition of hosting a big New Year's Eve party to get everyone together. I thought of no better way to propose to her than in front of all our family and friends. While on the dance floor, I told her I wanted to thank everyone for coming and helping out. I had the owners of the venue prepare a microphone for me and I began my speech by thanking everyone. I didn't realize how nervous I was until I began to speak. When everyone started to realize what I was going to ask her, they all crowded around us, interjecting and joking (at one point even rushing me). I mustered up the courage, and even with all the commotion, asked her to marry me.
...........There's one thing I need to know before 20-18 takes effect. One Thing. And I need a certain lady to ask that one thing to. See she wanted to play a song. But I don't think she's ready to dance. We been together for how long now, 6 1/2 years? It's a long time. Everybody's like damn what the hell took you so long. We're here now. I met you when I was 22. It took me 22 years to find you and I'm sorry it took so long. But I'd like to spend the next hundred making that up to you. Alright? I love you and will you marry me.
