It all started at Howard University (The Real HU !). We met in class during my junior and his first senior year (shout out to all the super seniors!). We were put in the same group, along with my one of my best friends and MOHs, Taylor. Because we'd be working together, Terrell decided very quickly he needed my number and towards the end of one of our first classes, he introduced himself as "Fatts" and followed up with "since we're in the same group, can I get your number?" I decline (mainly because I was fine with emailing), but took his as I was leaving class. Known as "Fatts" by everyone on campus, he insisted I call him that as well. I made it clear that I would not and asked him what his real name was. We began texting, and he would ask if we could study together and could he use my book until he got his (mind you, he had the book THE WHOLE time). I told him there really wasn't much to study but I could make copies of the pages he needed and drop them off. I was not interested and he was very persistent. He then began asking if I'd help him with his lesson plans, and although apprehensive, I agreed but made sure Taylor came along (I might not have been interested but I didn't want to see him fail). Towards the end of the semester, Terrell mentioned, once he passed the class, he wanted to take me out as a thank you for helping him. In the nicest way possible I told him that wasn't necessary, but thanks anyway (lol, I still wasn't interested). Well, those final grades came in and...he failed...but he still wanted to take me out. After much persuading and investigating by Taylor she insisted she heard he was nice person and that I should just go (I mean it was just dinner)! I agreed, he picked me up in his "Money Machine" (a green 00' Monte Carlo) and he took me to the now closed, Old Dominion Brewhouse off of 9th St NW. Needless to say, I had fun and we've been hanging out, laughing, growing together ever since.
