I had no idea taking a job at the City of Kingsville would change my life in so many ways. On my first day he thought I was nothing more than an old crazy cat lady, and I do not remember seeing him at all. Our paths crossed a few more times during the numerous parties and luncheons that were thrown at City Hall and I just could not get him out of my head. Eventually one of us(not Roel) decided it was time to hang out outside of City Hall and made the first move. The first date was had at El Tapatio in Kingsville, Texas on July 14, 2018 followed by Ant-Man and the Wasp at the Rio 7 Cinemas. It was a very Kingsville first date. Roel, myself, and his rescue dog Maryjane were almost inseparable from that day forth. Roel immediately hit it off with my big crazy family and even became besties with my grandpa. They are a lot alike. I even got to visit Mexico for the first time and met Roel's family. They were sweet to me even though I'm horrible at speaking Spanish. Roel always encouraged me to strive for more in life. He helped me get a better job in Corpus Christi, and even taught me to drive so I could get to it. When he graduated from TAMUK and got a job in San Antonio we did the long distance thing for a bit. It was hard being apart, and even harder being away from Maryjane. We were reunited again in San Antonio in August of 2020. He was my biggest support when I worked til 2am selling cars and even bought his truck from me. He also did not kill me when I wanted another dog. We happily welcomed the sweet baby boy Iroh to our small family. We worked together to get our first home on June 7th, 2021. We had plenty of IKEA dates and I built all the furniture myself, but I loved it. I loved building our life together. We even got 2 more dogs after moving into our home! Our girls Chibi and Nikki. Our little family was growing and our lives were going places I never thought I would see. Roel took me skiing for the first time(I hurt myself), endured gravity defying roller coasters with me in Orlando, climbed waterfalls and swam with dolphins in Jamaica with me, took me to my first Astros game, went into a very haunted museum with me, and just always kept life fun and exciting. I thought December 3rd, 2024 would just be another one of those beautiful vacation days in the Bahamas. The morning started off with a thrilling water slides and sharks, but one sunset walk on the beach later WE ARE ENGAGED. I get to marry my favorite human on October 18, 2025 and I cannot wait.
