Technically this story starts March 16th-ish of 2019. I was in a weird situation with my ex and so was he. I was also only 17 at the time so nothing came of the first time we met, except constantly thinking of the other person after that night lol. But our true story starts June 14th of 2019. It was a clear warm night, just hanging out at the fireman’s festival with my friend, when her sister calls and asks us if we want to come hang out with her at truck night at yankee lake. Us being us we jumped in the car and made our way out there. When we got there, there were people all over music blaring everyone having a grand ole time, so we go to find her sister. As we are walking I hear someone yell “UNDER THE SEA!! I REMEMBER YOU” I turn and look, and there is Anthony with a cigarette hanging from his mouth and a 12 pack of bud light under is arm. - I was in love immediately - He was very intoxicated and despite what he says I know that’s what gave him the confidence to approach me. He throws his arm around me and talks to my friend and I for a few minutes then asks “you 18 yet” just so happens I turned 18 a week before. I said “yes actually I turned 18 on the 5th of this month” he replied with “nope- I’m gonna need som ID” which I thought was hilarious. So I did indeed give him my ID. He said “well hell yeah” and we laughed about it. We hung out a little more through the night and we eventually had to leave. I got into my friend’s car and said “dude, I think I’m in love with that man.” She looked shocked and said “Who? Anthony?” Well, Duh, “Yes Anthony. I am in love with that man I need you to see if your sister will give him my number.” She got right on that. Next morning I wake up to a text from her sister with Anthony’s number, so I text him. We talked he asked to see me so we all went and hung out. We ended up hanging out every day until one day, June 19th, he called me his girlfriend and I told him I couldn’t be his girlfriend until he actually asked me, and he did. Obviously here we are, 7 years later about to be married, I said yes. Looking back at that night I met him, I wish I could 18 year old Ariel sitting in that car that she will love him more than I ever thought possible. It wasn’t a smooth easy ride but she made the best decision of her life.
