FAQs

We will add to this as we go along but a few we know already:
Question

Where should we stay?

Answer

Check out the travel and lodging page for some suggestions.

Question

Will this be in the snow and cold?

Answer

The ceremony itself will be on a deck and outside, but we are planning on having some heaters. Nevertheless, this will be 8000 ft up and in winter, so prepare for some cold before we all head inside for the party. We’ve been watching the Snowbasin snowcam like a hawk everyday. Watch with us! https://www.snowbasin.com/the-mountain/web-cams/

Question

How do we get up there?

Answer

We will start running a gondola ski lift up to the venue (that's the only way to get there) at about 5:30.

Question

Should we stay around after the wedding and ski?

Answer

Yes, absolutely. We get discounted lift tickets so be sure to reach out to us and get info on that, or get an epic pass if that makes sense for your lifestyle.

Question

Do I need snow boots?

Answer

The wedding itself is on a patio and the reception is inside, but to get through the parking lots, up to the gondolas and potentially to explore at the top, we'd recommend wearing some comfortable snow-friendly shoes and changing into your party shoes once you make it up.

Question

Should I wear a heavy jacket?

Answer

Couldn't hurt! It's going to be 10,000ft up a snowy mountain so expect it to be cold, better to dress for the weather and shed some layers once you're at the party then be cold the whole way up and down.

Question

How do I get to this thing?

Answer

The Needles Gondolas start running at 5:30 from the snowbasin main entrance and will take you up to the venue. Please be prompt as the ceremony will start at 6 and it's a pretty long ride. You're welcome to drive directly to snowbasin if you prefer, but we will also have busses running from the Lakeside condos (here: https://goo.gl/maps/Q5UFDVdtkbF1tsGU7), starting at 5pm. The busses will return you back to the lakeside condos after the event.

Question

What are you doing after the wedding?

Answer

We're sticking around for a while and will have some brunch on Sunday (listed on the events page) for our first real day of skiing (please ski before the wedding too if you want but we're gonna wait until it's official). Come have some coffee and hit the slopes with us if you're sticking around too. Michael Johnson (Ariel's dad), is hosting a day hike Sunday up to Antelope Mountain for those not looking to ski. Guests will meet at Earl's Lodge during the farewell brunch to eat a solid meal before heading into their respective cars no later than 10:30 am.

For all the days along the way
