Caroline and Aric arrived in Denver for internships with the Broncos after college and settled in at desks right next to each other. Though they were more competitive than close at the beginning, they soon began to bond over their mutual love for sports (and not knowing anyone else in Denver). A few months later, after watching a lot of college football and playoff baseball, Caroline agreed to go on a date with Aric.

When Caroline and Aric headed to Breckenridge for the Broncos' bye week, Caroline thought they were just spending a few days away from Denver. On a gondola up to the top of the mountain, though, Aric got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Caroline's mom, Laura, and friend Payton were waiting at the top of the mountain to celebrate with Caroline, Aric and Ryder. The four of them (and Ryder) headed back to Denver, where five more of Caroline's friends were waiting to surprise her. Caroline and Aric's special weekend lined up with their three-year anniversary.
