How we met and how we became oneHow we met and how we became one

Snapchat, School, Friends, Christmas break

We first met online through the social media app Snapchat. At the time, I didn’t think much of it since we were young and just chatting casually. One day, he asked if we could hang out, and we decided to meet at the riverfront for a little while. It was a bit awkward, but nothing too serious. After that, we didn’t hang out again for a whole year, though we kept texting on Snapchat off and on. He never gave up on wanting to get to know me better and be with me. One summer, just before our senior year, he messaged me to say he was moving to Mount Vernon to go to school there — the same town where I lived and attended school. When senior year started, I saw him on the first day, and we talked. I ended up sitting by him at lunch, and we even had a class together. Having that class together is what really brought us closer. We were always laughing with and at each other. Finally, on the last day of school before Christmas break, he asked if he could come over and hang out. I asked my mom, and she said yes. I had to work that night, so he came over after I got off, bringing me food. It quickly became a daily thing — he would come over and hang out all day, every day. Eventually, I invited him to my family’s Christmas celebration. He told me, “I’m not going unless we’re dating,” and I said, “Okay.” He came to the celebration, and after that, I went to his family’s Christmas with him and got to meet them. We fell in love very fast and have so much love for one another!
