This is the place it all started! We met right inside this little charming french bakery which is only steps away from Washington Square Park and NYU. They are known for their croissants and macarons and our favorite pastry was the Rasberry Tart.
By far our favorite meal! If you've never tried Ethiopian food PLEASE give this place a try. It's amazing!
Best Breakfast for Large Groups This is a long-time favorite polish breakfast place recommended to us by the Maid of Honor. It's open 24 hours and has the best pancakes and pirogies in the city.
Dominican Food! This super cozy Latin restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn is an awesome place to stop in to warm up and enjoy the sandwiches, rice and beans, and plantains.
The Best NY Pizza.... This place is super famous for its pizza and has been in tons of movies. Even though it's definitely a pit stop for tourists visiting the city, it's definitely loved by locals too.
Pasta in Little Italy... This is definitely the best pasta I've tried in the city and is definitely where we bring guests when they visit. They have family-sized portions and everything is made in-house.
If you are a foodie and looking to experience the best NYC has to offer, make the trip over to Astoria Queens to try foods from every place on Earth! It's the most diverse area in the country and the food is amazing.
A much calmer alternative to SOHO shopping, which can get super busy at times. This street in Williamsburg has tons of cool vintage shops along with the bigger ones.
Go to any of their locations if you'd like to do some thrifting while in the city
Go on a walk or take a tour of the street art in Bushwick
Please do not pay to go to the Statue of Liberty!!!! Most of the time, the people selling you tickets are often scammers, and spending the day on the island is not as fun as you might think for how expensive it is. Instead, take the FREE Staten Island Ferry for a 30-minute ride and a 360 view of the city and the Statue of Liberty. Plus, you can see the boats we took every day to commute to work when we lived in Staten Island.
If you'd like to go to the NYC Ballet at Lincoln Center and see the orchestra play, definitely check out the 30 for 30 tickets. Every Friday they give out 30 dollar tickets to anyone under the age of 30. Check the schedule online and see which events qualify (or just call). You'll have to pay at the door and they'll assign your seats there. Plus, it's a really fun excuse to get super dressed up:)
