Wedding Party

Karla Mendoza

Maid of Honor

When Karla and I aren't together you'll often hear people say "where's your twin?". Karla and I met in 2019 at our Abilene home church and we were pretty inseparable after that. We found ourselves navigating so many different chapters of life in Abilene. Karla has always felt a big sister to me. I always tell her that the Lord knew we needed to be friends and I 100% know that in my heart. Karla is hilarious, genuine, and honest.

Abby Cortinas

Bridesmaid

If you find yourself wondering who will dance the entire night on the dance floor, that will be Abby! If you're scared to dance, she will 100% gather you in to learn! Abby's ability to unite different groups is one of Abby's greatest abilities. We met the first day of college in 2018, little did we know that first day sitting next to each other in Biology101 would lead to years of being housemates, surviving covid through college, graduation, night outs, and our post graduate careers, ALL in Abilene! Beyond proud to know Abby and to have a friendship that continues to inspire me!

Jenn Elvir

Bridesmaid

A Florida girly at heart who found herself attending graduate school in a small town in Texas. Jenn and Arianna met in 2021 both starting their master's program. Jenn and I are often described as the "funny two" which we take pride in. You can constantly find us laughing in a corner, on long walks, or blasting music at 5am work shifts at our local coffee shop. Jenn is the person who will have your belly aching and your eyes watering. Jenn's ability to pull joy into a room is one of her best qualities. Thankful for her kindness and the ways she makes others laugh.

Vanessa Acosta

Bridesmaid

Vanessa and I met in high school. We both grew really close during high school and over the years have spent time learning about each others growth in our own careers and in different cities. Vanessa's loud and energetic personality truly moves a room and is always including others. She is kind and selfless. Vanessa and I might only see each other once a year but our bond is nothing but incredible.

Austin Gonzalez

Best Man

In 2009, Austin and I were randomly paired as roommates for a band trip to San Antonio. I didn’t have anyone else to room with. From that very first day, our friendship was built on trust, honesty, respect, and endless laughter. Austin is a true family man with an unwavering drive to crush his goals. He’s an inspiration not only to his kids but to me as well. Thanks for standing by me as my best man.

Alonzo (Aj) Cofield

Groomsman

I used to beg all of the time about wanting a little brother, and then AJ came into our lives. When he was just a baby, I’d zoom him around in his stroller like I was Paul Walker in Fast and Furious. As kids, we were pretty reckless. Playing tackle football with each other in the house or bobsledding down the stairs in laundry baskets (usually ending with him getting hurt, of course). But through all of that, he’s grown into someone tough, fearless, and with a solid sense of what he wants out of life. It means the world to me to have him by my side on this special day.

Nasir Freddie

Groomsman

Nasir is like me in so many ways (but, honestly, he’s much cooler). He’s an incredible big brother to his two siblings, a brilliant young scholar, and his charisma is off the charts. If I’m ever blessed to have kids, I’m grateful that they’ll have someone like Nasir to also look up to. The whole family is excited to see the man he’s becoming, and I know he’s going to do amazing things.

Alakai Freddie

Groomsman

Alakai embodies so much of his father, Vernon. From his sharp wit and athletic prowess to his competitive spirit and undeniable swagger. It’s like Vernon’s essence lives on in him. Alakai is truly one of the finest young men anyone could have the privilege of knowing, and I feel honored to be a part of his incredible journey.
