From coworkers to friends to partners in life, our story is a simple one. We met while working at a non-profit animal shelter. As we grew closer, we realized we had a lot more in common than just our love for animals. Our friendship blossomed into a love that continued to grow through the years. Two dogs, two cats, and one pandemic later, we're tying the knot!
On our third anniversary, we planned a trip to Disneyland to celebrate. After walking through the front gates, we took a quick bathroom break. While Arianna waited for Joseph, he was actually sprinting down Main Street to the front of the castle. Suddenly, Arianna’s two youngest sisters—who she thought were at home over 200 miles away—emerged from the Disneyland Emporium, grabbed her hand, and shouted "Hurry! You're going to be late!" Very confused and unsure of what was going on, Arianna shouted back, "What are you doing here?!" As they pulled her down Main Street, Joseph's sister and her family appeared shouting the same thing, "You're going to be late!" As we approached the castle, Arianna’s eldest sister appeared, Joseph's aunts appeared, and finally waiting in front of the castle were both of our parents. As the crazy dog-mom that Arianna is, she shouted, "Where are my dogs?!" To her knowledge they were in my parents care. 😅 After giving her dad a hug, he said to her, "I think someone has something to ask you." Arianna turned around and there Jospeh was. Down on one knee, he asked her to marry him. To which she responded, "Yes! Of course!"
Arianna always felt it unfair that men typically have the full responsibility to plan a proposal, purchase a ring, and don't receive anything in return. So, she proposed back! She picked out a ring, planned a simple and quiet way to surprise Joseph. Arianna got down on one knee and asked him to marry her back. He said yes! (Of course)
