Random choices and destiny lead a born and raised peruvian girl all the way to Stowe, VT of all places. She left on her own to find herself and in the process of learning to love life, love found her. A hostess, a chef and an open kitchen was all it took. After a couple of months of innocent flirting, Dylan finally made the K.O. move and kidnapped Ari on Feb 17th, and so the adventure began. After only going out for a couple of weeks, Dylan got in an accident and broke his collarbone... We like to think that that event was the one that sealed the deal. Ari moved in and helped out Dylan while he was on bedrest waiting for surgery, days went by, things got personal (when you have to help shower your 2 week old date it doesnt get more personal than that) and eventually surgery day came by, on the exact same day Ari had to leave back to Peru. (You can imagine the tears that day). They stayed in touch... skype dates and text messages worked their magic, and somehow they decided to take a leap of faith and see each other again in July. Ari took the first trip to Stowe after the winter season and stayed for 5 weeks... that was the trip that made the relationship official... Over 4 years and 14 trips later, here we are! No more count downs and no more goodbyes... THE DAY IS FINALLY HERE!!!
Dylan and Ari planned an over night hike to Sterling Pond during trip #10. Along with Rufus we hiked all the way up to the ski house where we planned on sleeping. To our surprise there were 5 guys up there, it was unexpected but we went along with it. We started a fire and hang around until it was time for the sunset. It was a beautiful day up there, the trails were full of grass and flowers and the golden light of the sun covered the whole face of the mountain. We walked over to the trail and Dylan took pictures of Ari and Rufus, then he popped up the tripod so all three of us could get our picture! Little did Ari know he would get down on one knee and pull out that little white box. "Will you marry me?" "YESSSSSSS!" (screaming and crying and jumping up and down) We were so happy! Because this meant our goodbyes were coming to an end very soon. So we went back to the ski house and packed our things. (Cause we were not about to spend that night next to other 5 guys.... right?!) It was the perfect day, and thanks to sneaky Dylan we got pictures of that perfect moment.
