Located downtown, Waterdog is a good spot for a designer grilled cheese, hot dog, or sandwich. They do have a large array of beers on tap. It sits on The James River and is next door to Bikes Unlimited (to burn off lunch) - and also next to Ice Cream Dream! (If you prefer a post-brunch sweet!)
Grey's is a new, smaller restaurant downtown, but not to be overlooked! All of the food is incredibly fresh, and the always-changing menu never disappoints.
Dublin3 is located downtown directly on the James River. It is within walking distance of the hotels suggested in downtown area, and tney make a killer espresso!
The Cavalier is a Lynchburg staple. They effortlessly take the awards for The Burg's "Best Burger" and "Best Fries". Ariane's first job was here and it never gets old - a real life "Cheers" - where everybody knows your name!
Lynchburg boasts one of America's first Community Markets! In our downtown historic district, it is close to several of the suggested hotels and would be an awesome early morning stop to hit up before the wedding!
We've personally only had the pleasure of dining here once, but it quickly became Ariane's favorite breakfast spot. Great vibes, great chicken and waffles, and also has a coffee bar and a liquor bar.
The Burg sits on a beautiful piece of The James. The Blackwater Creek Trail follows along downtown, and the entrance is only minutes from our suggested downtown hotels. The trail goes over the river, down to the shore, and has quaint fishing spots, also. Fun for the adults AND little ones!
