The Proposal

April 14, 2019

Zak told me that we were going on a scavenger hunt date and when I got home from work that day there was a clue waiting for me along with the rules for the date. My mom offered to drive me around town to each location. The second clue was held by Zak's younger brother Jared at Century High School where we first met. The third clue was with Zak's dad at Longhorn Steakhouse which is where our first date was. Our first kiss was at my house which is where the fourth clue was at with my sister Marah and our dog Molly :) The next location was the Allied Health Building which is where Zak and I both attend school for my nursing degree and his paramedic degree. Jared also had this clue waiting for me as well. The next location was at the hospital that I work at. One of my coworkers was very excited to give me the next clue! From the hospital I went to Zak's apartment where the final clue was waiting for me. The last destination was down by the river where we've been playing sand volleyball together for the last few years. The whole time my mom and I were driving she was convincing me that Zak had adopted a puppy and that he was waiting for me to surprise me with this new puppy for us. She had me very convinced which made the surprise so much better. She walked with me down to the river and then we saw Zak standing there waiting for me and I turned to her and said "Mom, he doesn't have a dog". When I walked up to Zak he asked me to marry him and of course I said yes! He did such an amazing job in planning the whole day and I am extremely grateful for all the wonderful people we have in our lives to make our day so special.
