Katie is the closest thing to a sister that Ariana could ever have had. They've been friends since college and met through an a cappella singing group. We'd like you to get to know Katie a bit more, so here are just a few of Ariana's favorite things about her: 1. She orders 2 of every appetizer at a restaurant and always wants get one of everything on the menu so we can all share. Her eyes are definitely bigger than her stomach! 2. She's extremely giving and thoughtful. She sends gifts for all major life events. There's truly nobody who can make you feel as special as Katie does. 3. She is a boss babe! She has successfully started up 4 businesses (one of which is a wedding venue) and 2 vacation properties which are all thriving. She is inspiring, driven, genuine and humble. 4. She is an amazing mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. With her busy life and career, she somehow finds the time to focus her endless energy on those that she loves. And Katie loves hard! Once you meet her, you'll see how easy it comes to Katie to love people. 5. Last but not least, she eats shrimp tails. That's right, the part that everyone throws away. This was discovered early on in their friendship, and no tail has gone wasted on their sushi dates since. When you see Katie, be sure to give her a hug and thank her for all she's done to put this beautiful weekend together. In true Katie fashion, she has given a lot of herself to make this day special!
Clay Johnson
Best Man
Clay is the older brother of Wes, and oldest in family of three. In thirty plus years of Wes’ life, Clay has been there always – whether in the mountains having a beer sitting next to the fire or family function making sure Wes doesn’t “pull a Johnson” – more on this later… 1.) Family man does not begin to describe Clay. Dad of two beautiful girls (Hailey & Caroline) Clay manages to juggle husband, father, and friend gracefully. The level of dedication to his family is something to truly emulate and that which I have strived to incorporate in my new experiences with fatherhood. 2.) Working in home pest control is not for the faint of heart – but Clay manages to strive at the role and if anyone has a question about that creepy crawly infestation, he is your man. 3.) Checking in on all family members is something Clay gives a new standard too. At times possibly making me look bad… Clay has a knack for calling all those around him to either lend an ear or simply put a smile on their face. 4.) Never met a stranger. If anyone has taught me how to talk to anyone and everyone it’s Clay. Boy has never met a stranger in his life! When you see Clay at the wedding, please thank him for keeping me in Check all these years. Doubtful he will be drinking wine, as he is a beer guy, but please give him a cheer’s and thank him for all that he did to help put this special day together!
