Raymond and Ari met at a In N Out closer to North County San Diego. They were both entering their sophomore year of high school at different schools, but the distance didn't stop RJ from asking Ari to be his girlfriend 1 week after meeting. They bonded over their mutual love of sports, Disneyland, and niche movies.

Shortly after Ari graduated from Goucher College, she went on a graduation trip to Disney World with her maid of honor, Caroline, and one of RJ's groomsmen, Steven. It was RJ and Ari's first time at Disney World and after spending an entire week in the Florida humidity it was finally coming to a close at Animal Kingdom...or so Ari thought. RJ says "Let's go to the castle one more time" and everyone proceeded to wait 45 mins for the next bus. With Ari feeling exhausted, sunburnt, and falling asleep on the bus, RJ texted Caroline (amazing maid of honor) and said "I don't know about this" but Caroline assured him that I would love it. Ari, Raymond, Caroline, and Steven finally make it to the front of the castle and take a photo. Ari notices RJ messing with his pockets and said "are you about to do something?" to which RJ lied and said "no..." About 30 seconds later, RJ asked Ari to marry him and she said yes. She did in fact love it!
