We met for the first time when we were camping with several families brought together by Christine. She had lots of friend groups and brought Micah along because his family couldn't make it. I'm really glad she brought him along. Micah was shy and polite and had a blonde bowl cut. I remember Micah not feeling good so we hung out in a tent and listened to music on my first ever ipod.
In the following years Christine would always play match maker for all the young people in her life. In 2020, she invited Saoirse and I out to a volleyball night at Calvary. It wasn't until I got there that I realized she had invited 2 guys there to attempt to set me up with. I was the least interested in any type of relationship. Micah himself had become recently single. Micah started talking to me and everything felt smooth. When we left, he walked us to my car and said goodbye. Later on Micah messaged me to ask for a date, I had a crush on Micah since I met him back in 2006 so I said yes. Micah had also had a crush on me for years. I still didn't expect much to come from it. Our date start at 7:30 am, he picked me up from my house and we drove from the west side to the foothills where we talked and hiked up for about an hour. We then stopped for some drinks and drove once again to the west side to go off-road. Bad idea.... we ended up getting stuck. I had to call Dada to tell him I was stuck and running late, which made him late to church. He was not happy with Micah. We dug and tried to get his truck out but the sand was too soft and we couldn't find anything for leverage and Micah could not stop apologizing. We finally had to walk to his roommates house where we waited for Caleb to get home. After such a long and messy date, Micah assumed we wouldn't be going out again but I told him I would love to go out for another shot as something a bit shorter. Caleb got home and picked us up to take me home. Thankfully Caleb and Micah were able to get his truck out!
