Shortly after Jamie moved back to California from Washington, she and Ariana matched on Bumble. Not wanting to be boring, Jamie re-read over Ariana's profile to say something relevant in her first message and saw that Ariana had listed a special skill where she could name all the Carousel Horses on the carousel in Disneyland. That was her opening! Luckily, Ariana responded with a list of her favorite horses, and the two hit it off, bonding over a shared love of Hocus Pocus, the Winchester Mystery House, and so much more. They finally decided to have a first date at Acre Pizza in Sebastopol, where they literally closed the place down because they were so busy talking, then proceeded to loiter in the parking lot as they talked more.

Friday October 13th, 2023 was a momentous date for these two. Not only was it a spooky day, but Hocus Pocus was playing in theaters for the 30th anniversary, and these two are spooky nerds. During the showing, Jamie was making Ariana laugh by acting along with the Salem Witches. After the movie ended, not wanting the date to end as well, they decided to go to a cemetery. At night. On Friday the 13th. Armed with a tiny flashlight, the two wandered through the cemetery until a mysterious whistling chased them off. Running away and eventually laughing about how wild it was, they shared sweet treats in Ariana's car before finally calling it a night.

On Halloween night, 2023, the couple became official! It was a wonderful way to celebrate one of their favorite days of the year. In 2025, on July 4th at the Winchester Mystery House, Jamie proposed at a Victorian Tea Party and Seance. Luckily, Ariana said yes! The couple joked that San Jose set off fireworks in celebration with them, not for any other reason. On August 25, Ariana's birthday, she proposed back in the Ferndale Cemetery, and the two were now (according to Ariana) officially engaged. The couple celebrated the dual occasion with a Victorian photo shoot and cake. The couple is happy to announce that on October 31, 2026, three years after they became official girlfriends, they will now celebrate becoming wives in the place they celebrated their first anniversary, in Ferndale, CA.
