It all started at work four years ago. We both worked at the same restaurant, just in different cities, so we had never met. Carlos had come over to my store to see a mutual friend. Our friend had introduced us, and his first question to me was why I was Hispanic but didn’t speak Spanish. Then he proceeded to try to make me speak Spanish. Let’s just say it wasn’t love at first site. Flash forward three years later, he comes to my store to say hi, then I made him work because I was short staffed and needed help. While we were working we started to talk and get to know each other, it ended up being really fun even though it was a stressful day. After that he tried to ask me out to lunch, which ended with me saying no. I honestly didn’t mean to, I was just working the day he wanted to go out, but he took it as me turning him down. On the bright side, he still asked for my number and I gave it to him because I thought we had a really good time working together that night. I’m really glad I did, because even though our first date went hilariously wrong, I ended up realizing he was the one. Todo comenzó en el trabajo hace cuatro años. Ambos trabajábamos en el mismo restaurante, solo en diferentes ciudades, así que nunca nos habíamos conocido. Carlos había venido a mi tienda a ver a un amigo en común. Nuestro amigo nos había presentado, y su primera pregunta para mí fue por qué era hispano, pero no hablaba español. Luego procedió a tratar de hacerme hablar español. Digamos que no fue amor en el primer sitio. Flash forward tres años más tarde, viene a mi tienda a saludar, luego lo hice trabajar porque tenía poco personal y necesitaba ayuda. Mientras trabajábamos empezamos a hablar y a conocernos, terminó siendo muy divertido a pesar de que era un día estresante. Después de eso, trató de invitarme a salir a almorzar, lo que terminó conmigo diciendo que no. Honestamente, no era mi intención, solo estaba trabajando el día que quería salir, pero lo tomó como si yo lo rechazara. En el lado positivo, todavía me pidió mi número y se lo di porque pensé que lo pasamos muy bien trabajando juntos esa noche. Me alegro mucho de haberlo hecho, porque a pesar de que nuestra primera cita salió hilarantemente mal, terminé dándome cuenta de que él era el indicado.

It was our 1-year anniversary dating. We had made reservations to an Italian restaurant that night, which is hilarious because he doesn't like pasta (It's a tragedy!), but he did it for me because I LOVE pasta. Even more hilarious, I didn't even order pasta, I ordered a steak, and he ordered lasagna. I'm not even going to apologize, it was delicious. After that delectable meal, we drove to a spot we went to when we first started dating. Walked and talked for hours. We walked into a calm, quiet, private area where we could see the stars in the sky. I was so distracted looking up by the time I looked back at him he was on one knee. Honestly, most of it was a blur, I was too excited that I didn't listen to half of what he said and I just screamed "YES'. I didn't even focus on the ring, I just kind of pounced on him, full of joy. Then we layed in the grass and just stared at the stars for the rest of the night, and when I say rest of the night I mean 10 at night because it was cold as hell. Fell asleep that night with a ring on my finger, ready and hopeful for what the future holds for us. Era nuestra cita de aniversario de 1 año. Habíamos hecho reservas para un restaurante italiano esa noche, lo cual es divertidísimo porque no le gusta la pasta (¡es una tragedia!), pero lo hizo por mí porque ME ENCANTA la pasta. Aún más gracioso, ni siquiera pedí pasta, pedí un bistec y él pidió lasaña. Ni siquiera voy a disculparme, estaba delicioso. Después de esa deliciosa comida, fuimos a un lugar al que fuimos cuando empezamos a salir. Caminó y habló durante horas. Entramos en una zona tranquila, tranquila y privada donde podíamos ver las estrellas en el cielo. Estaba tan distraído mirando hacia arriba cuando lo miré hacia atrás, él estaba de rodillas. Honestamente, la mayor parte fue borrosa, estaba demasiado emocionado de no escuchar la mitad de lo que dijo y solo grité "SÍ". Ni siquiera me enfocé en el anillo, solo me asomé sobre él, lleno de alegría. Luego nos acostamos en la hierba y miramos las estrellas por el resto de la noche, y cuando digo el resto de la noche me refiero a las 10 de la noche porque hacía frío como el infierno. Me quedé dormido esa noche con un anillo en el dedo, listo y esperanzado de lo que nos depara el futuro.

September 21, 2021- First year anniversary and the day we got engaged!!!/¡Primer aniversario y el día en que nos comprometimos! March 1, 2022- Our little bundle of joy, Eliana, was born!/¡Nuestro pequeño paquete de alegría, Eliana, nació! September 15, 2023- Our Wedding Day!!!/¡¡¡El día de nuestra boda!!!
