We are so blessed to have so many friends and family around us. We can't wait to bring everyone together. You all have played an important part in our story and we are thankful to have you there to celebrate our love. See you on the dance floor!
We met at work, during the Gawker Media days. Josh was the new kid on the e-commerce team. Immediately we befriended each other, even though Ari did think Josh was the quiet, weird new kid! What turned from a friendship eventually turned into Josh asking Ari out on their first date (finally, took him long enough!) That night, we went to 3 separate bars until each of them kicked us out at close. We didn't want the date to end because we knew this was something special! We continued to date ("secretly") and soon after, all of our coworkers found out there was a love story brewing...and, as they say, the rest is history!
After an incredibly difficult year of the pandemic, Ari had put her thoughts of engagement aside. We were just happy to still be getting along at that point (haha!) Little did she know, Josh had really tricked her from the start of the summer of 2020, and had a whole grandiose plan he was working on (with Ari's friends and family in on the secret!) The morning of August 1st, Josh gave Ari a kiss goodbye, and walked out of the apartment for his golf round, with his golf clubs and all. Ari then went to brunch with her friend Amanda. While there, little did she know Josh had never planned to go to golfing, and he snuck back into the apartment and decorated the living room with rose petals and candles. Unfortunately Ari had no idea all of this was going on, so after brunch she decided to do a quick shop at Zara (Josh's nightmare!) before walking home. After Amanda and Josh discovered Ari was not going straight home after lunch, he called her immediately begging her to come home with the leftovers (if you know Josh, being hangry is not out of the norm, so Ari thought nothing of this). Ari eventually hopped a cab and rushed home. She opened the door, frazzled and annoyed she had to cut her shopping trip short. But ended up walking into the amazing surprise of him getting down on one knee with candles and rose petals spread all around the apartment. Afterwards, he told Ari that she had 10 minutes to get ready for the rest of the day. Having no idea what other surprises were in store, we ran out of the house (chipped nails and ALL!!!!) and headed to Central Park. Once there, both of our families surprised us, we celebrated with champagne and lots of happy tears. A few hours later, all of our friends surprised us in our spot under the "tree"! It was a day of perfect planning by Josh, and Ari was so thankful he put so much thought into it -- Josh definitely deserves credit where credit is due!!
