Arial and Gabe met in college at their mutual after school job. Arial was determined to work at Subway and called every day for weeks to get an interview. Gabe trained Arial on her first day, even though she already knew everything there was to know about sandwich artistry. A couple weeks after they met the love interest began, when the two were working an evening shift together. Arial was silently mopping the lobby giggling to herself. Gabe, ideally manning the cash register, saw the whole thing and thought, "She is just like me, always talking to herself." After that night, Gabe was screaming "Goodbye, Arial!" every time he clocked out and was inviting her to hangout any chance he could. Evidently, absence makes the heart grow fonder; it wasn't until after Christmas break Gabe gathered the courage to ask Arial to dinner. The evening of the date Gabe was late and never actually showed; his car had broken down about halfway to Fort Lewis campus. Arial, being new to Durango, drove to help Gabe but got lost and ended up 15 minutes outside of town. By the time she found Gabe he had walked several miles, almost the entire way to the restaurant. When they finally got a seat, they were both so frazzled dinner conversation was pressed to say the least. Their struggle was so blatant that another customer approached their table in an attempt to help them engage in casual conversation. At the end of the night Arial and Gabe decided to give the date another swing, no way a night could go that wrong twice! But, just three days later it was Valentines Day and Gabe visited Arial's dorm with a heart shaped box of chocolate and flowers! They have been inseparable ever since.
