We're Getting Married!

We met at a pool party at the end of the summer. Sparks were flying only a couple of weeks later at a happy hour in the West Village with a group of mutual friends. We started dating, and this Monday night happy hour was a tradition for many months into our relationship.

Ariadne: We love to ride our tandem bicycle! One sunny April morning we decided to go for a ride in Central Park. Joe: I had the ring hidden in the apartment, and something in me said “take the ring”, so I put the box in my pocket, next to our snacks. Ariadne: I had no idea what was about to happen on our ride. Joe: We were riding through the park, the sun was out, and the cherry trees were in full bloom. We rode up the big hill, then up an extra hill that took us to a clearing in the northwest corner of the park. Ariadne: We got off the bike to take a break after the climb, and Joe asked if I wanted a snack. I said I wasn’t hungry. Next thing I knew, Joe was down on one knee! Joe: I asked Ariadne to marry me, and she said yes! Ariadne: I said yes! Joe: And after we called our families, we hopped back on our tandem and rode several more laps around the park with big smiles on our faces. To celebrate, we went to our favorite tapas restaurant for dinner that night.
