Reno and Sacramento have the closest airports so check there first! But definitely make sure to check out our "Things to Do" page if you want to plan an extended vacation/extra acvitites!
Good question! There is SO much to do and SO much to see in the surrounding areas. We've provided a detailed list of local suggestions on the "Things to Do" page. If you are feeling ambitious and want to venture farther outside of the places that we suggested, just give us a call or send us a text and we'll help you with recommendations for your trip! Don't forget, we'll be having a catered brunch, games, outdoor activities, etc the day after the wedding, so we'd love for you to stay and hang out for one more day!
We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! Come let your hair down with us! (Kids in the family are the only kids invited).
If you are staying or planning on spending some time on the property consider bringing something to hike in, extra towel for lake, bug spray, swimsuit, sun screen.
Yes, check out our Travel & Accommodations page for all the info you need.
If your invitation says “and Guest,” then yes, if not, we would prefer if it was just you.
Garden attire....does anyone know what this means?? Basically, you're at a wedding, but we are also very much outside. Be smart!! We will occasionally be on grass so ladies, leave the stilettos at home!

The answer is no!! There is ONLY WiFi at the Saloon. Once you are on the property, there is generally no service so if you need to get ahold of someone head to the saloon and jump on the WiFi. (We will put a sign out with username & password). Otherwise, unplug and relax!! We love that you won't be able to hop on instagram and are forced to fully sink into the Sierra mountains. That being said, don't expect a lot of communication from us once we are on the property (Thursday). Please refer to this website as much as possible if you have any questions.
No, there are limited gas stations within close proximity of Kirkwood.
There is a general store with limited hours and grocery selection, also serving breakfast and lunch. We recommend bringing all food and alcohol you would like to have at your condo or hotel. You can stop at Safeway/Raley's/Whole Foods, etc on the way up and stock up on food/alcohol you may want. In addition to the general store, the Kirkwood Inn and Saloon serves lunch and dinner, located on Hwy 88 across from the turnoff to Kirkwood.
Yes! Please bring your own food for breakfast and lunches and any other items/snacks you may want. You will have limited to no service once you arrive at The Hideout so if splitting with someone, please plan in advance! The Welcome Party dinner, the Wedding dinner and Sunday brunch is all provided by us. Drinks will be offered for all of those events. There should be plenty of refrigerator storage for your food but just be mindful of what you buy! I'd recommend checking out the wedding party page and asking 1: if they're staying on-site and 2: if they want to split food with you!. If you're staying in a tent, you can also keep your food at the lodge. Alternatively, you can bring a cooler, keep it by your tent and we can make sure there is enough ice for you to restock your cooler when needed.
You are welcome to drive but please notify us! The shuttles will be driving to and from for this event but with limited capacity.
Yes!! We would love it if some people would volunteer to drive to the wedding as the shuttles have limited capacity. Please notify us if you have not already that you will be driving so we can make sure everyone has a way to get to the wedding on time!
Yes. While it will likely be hot during the day, Kirkwood cools down in the evening.
Hydrate. Hydrate. Hydrate! One glass of water for every drink. Bring electrolyte packets. Chapstick is key.
