Due to the ongoing pandemic we unfortunately have had to make the decision to postpone our wedding to a future date. We were so excited to have you all with us to celebrate, however, the health and wellness of all of you are our top priority! We will send a notification out as soon as things calm down and we can settle on a new date. In the meantime, please take good care of yourselves and we will be in touch soon!!
Ardella: For context, I was a freshman and had gone to my first college frat party with one of my bridesmaids, Reshonda. I did not have a positive experience with the brothers of purple and gold. Let's just say, if I saw purple shirts, gold boots, and camouflage coming, I was going in the opposite direction!! I was walking around campus one day and lo and behold, perched at the top of Omega Hill with his frat brothers.....I saw him and my heart skipped a beat. Given my experience at that party previously, I only admired him from afar. I saw him a few more times after that and didn't see him again. Until.........
Ardella's version: My crazy girlfriend Tawana told me she met a guy that went to Grambling when I did, and thought he was perfect for me. She said he was having a house party and wanted me to go with her and meet him. I doubted I knew him and asked his name. Chris Booker. I don't recall how I learned his name back then, but just like the first time I laid eyes on him, my heart skipped a beat.....again. I never imagined I would ever see him again, let alone meet him. We quickly learned that we had great chemistry. We dated on and off over the course of a year or so and life eventually took us on our separate paths. We spoke briefly right before I was moving to San Diego in 2013. By then, nothing was going to stop me from leaving Texas and I was on my way. Timing was not on our side.....again. Chris' Version: My Home Girl Tawana (Chuck Woolery) Brown-Williams asked me if I knew her girlfriend that attended Grambling at the same time as me, named Della. I had no idea who she was and until she walked through my door, I had never laid eyes on her. Once I was introduced to her, I knew we had a good vibe. Unfortunately, I took a job out of town and we lost touch and both moved on. When I would see Tawana I would always ask about Della and how she was doing. Tawana would always tell me "you need to call her", but the timing was always off. Finally, we reconnected and its been GREAT! Everything I could have expected.
Ardella: In 2016 I got a text from......Tawana!! "Girl, guess who I ran into at the Bayou Classic party!?" I knew it had to be him. I was not available at the time, but he always stirred up something in me and was curious about what he had been up to all those years. So I gave her the ok to give him my number. He revealed that throughout those years, he believed I was the one that got away and previously unknown feelings were expressed. Bad timing.......AGAIN!! We were in touch here and there and he asked me to reach out to him if I were ever to be available again, I knew where to find him........about 2 years later, that time came at the end of 2018. I reached out to him in March of 2019, curious to know if we still had "it." We finally saw each other in June, after about 15 years, and picked up right where we left off. We made our relationship official in July, in Hawaii. We fell in love. He proposed in October, in Havana, Cuba at Morro Castle and now, here we are!! Time waits for no one, so if you know, GO FOR IT!! Life is so short. God had all the stars and planets aligned perfectly for us and we are immensely grateful to have another opportunity at real love and happiness, with each other. My heart couldn't be more full than it is right now. Chris: Would'nt change a thing...Exactly how it happened!
