Five years ago, we exchanged vows in the quiet midst of a pandemic—grateful for each other, but without the celebration we had imagined. Now, with the world open again, we finally get to honor that moment surrounded by the people we love most. Renewing our vows isn’t just about revisiting that promise—it’s about celebrating how far we’ve come, the strength we’ve built, and the joy we now get to share freely. What makes this day even more special is sharing it with our daughter, who’s turning two—a beautiful reminder of the life and love that’s grown between us.
A friendship that started in middle school evolved into a deeper friendship after high school. We had a very special connection from the moment we started playing together in Mariachi and our friendship blossomed into an undeniable love story. After 2 years of patience and an amazing friendship, we made it official, and that started the beginning of our lifelong relationship.
After waiting 8 years, the day had finally come on Christmas night. My family, Jose and I were opening presents that night and Jose said there was one more present for me up on the Christmas tree. As I was looking for this gift, he reaches out for my hand, turns me around and gets down on one knee. Of course I couldn't believe it! I've been waiting for so long, so I kept saying, "Really! Really!" because I couldn't believe this day was finally here. After a few "Really's", I said YES! and we are both so excited and can't wait to celebrate this next chapter of our lives with you! See you in Santa Ana!
Five years ago, like so many couples navigating the uncertainty of COVID, we found ourselves facing unexpected changes—our venue canceled just one week before the wedding. After two postponements, we let go of the big plans and embraced what mattered most: each other. Our backyard wedding turned out to be everything we needed—simple, heartfelt, and full of love. It reminded us that the beauty of a wedding isn’t in the setting, but in the commitment. We knew then that one day, we’d celebrate properly with the people we love. So now, five years later, we’re renewing our vows—this time with our daughter Amelia by our side. She’s taught us so much about growing together, and we’re beyond excited to share this moment with her and with all of you.
