FAQs

The Wedding Website of Ashley Arcidi and Gavin Collins
Question

Is there a hotel block?

Answer

No, there is not! You are free to stay anywhere you please! Closer to Taormina the better:)

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We want everyone to feel comfortable and confident, so please feel free to wear whatever style makes you feel your best. We kindly ask that guests avoid overly casual attire. Call it cocktail attire!

Question

Is the area walkable?

Answer

Taormina is very walkable within the historic town center, with Corso Umberto lined with cafés, shops, and beautiful viewpoints all easily explored on foot. That said, the town sits on a hillside, so expect steep streets and cobblestones — comfortable shoes are highly recommended. If you are staying outside the center or down by the beach, taxis or arranged transportation may be helpful, especially in the evenings.

Question

What is the weather like in Taormina in October?

Answer

October in Taormina is beautifully mild, with daytime temperatures typically in the low to mid-70s°F and cooler evenings in the upper 50s to low 60s°F. It’s warm enough for seaside lunches and exploring, without the intensity of peak summer heat. Brief rain showers are possible, and evenings can feel breezy, so a light jacket or wrap is recommended.

Question

A Note on Our Celebration

Answer

We are still thoughtfully finalizing the details of our celebration, but we wanted to share a bit about what to expect. Our wedding day will likely look a little different from the traditional wedding schedule many are used to. Following our ceremony at the church, we will gather together for a relaxed, family-style dinner reception where we can spend the evening enjoying good food, conversation, and time with the people we love most. Rather than hosting a formal dance reception with first dances and a structured program, the evening will naturally continue into the town, where those who wish can join us for drinks and dancing at some of the local bars nearby. Many of the classic wedding traditions—such as first dances and other special moments—will be celebrated later at home with our extended circle of family and friends. This allows us to keep our celebration in Italy intimate and focused on simply being together in a beautiful place. We are so grateful to share this experience with you and cannot wait to celebrate in such a meaningful way.
