Things To Do

Naples Pier

25 12th Avenue South, Naples, FL 34102
, (239) 213-7120

A nice place for hanging by the beach or a little dining and shopping. A beautiful area, not to mention warm and clear ocean waters!

Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary

375 Sanctuary Road West, Naples, FL 34120
, (239) 348-9151

This place was so amazing getting to see the natural foliage and animals in their natural habitats. If you could choose only two things to do in Florida it should be this and the beach!

Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens

1590 Goodlette-Frank Road, Naples, FL 34102
, (239) 262-5409

If you are wanting a nice little stroll and to see animals here is the place!

Railroad Museum of South Florida

7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33907
, (239) 267-1905

Somewhere I took James as a surprise because he loves trains! The Railroad Museum of South Florida, Inc., a Florida 501c(3) Not for Profit Corporation, operates an Interpretive Center housed in a Railroad Depot-style building in Lakes Regional Park in Fort Myers, Florida.. The Outdoor exhibits include a cosmetically restored 1905 Atlantic Coastline Railroad 0-6-0 Baldwin Locomotive and Tender, and a cosmetically restored 1953 Seaboard Airline Railroad Caboose. In addition to the Interpretative Center it operates a one-mile miniature train ride which takes visitors on a 15 minute scenic tour, that winds through miniature villages, depicting local Southwest Florida communities, circa 1950. It travels through a 100-foot tunnel, over a trestle bridge and between lakes and wooded areas with views of local birds and wildlife. The Railroad Museum and Train Village make a great destination for a family outing!

Lakes Park

7330 Gladiolus Drive, Fort Myers, FL 33908
, (239) 533-7575

Lakes Regional Park is a 279-acre public park located along Gladiolus Drive just south of Fort Myers, Florida. It opened on April 21, 1984, and is operated by the Lee County Department of Parks and Recreation. The park was named after its main feature: 158 acres of man-made freshwater lakes. You can rent paddle boats and a two-seater bike with a shade cover to roam through the park!

The Ancient Spanish Monastery

The Ancient Spanish Monastery

, (305) 945-1461

We went for a weekend trip and it was a really cool experience. It is mainly outdoors besides the chapel.

Koreshan State Historic Site

Koreshan State Historic Site

3800 Corkscrew Road, Estero, FL 33928
, 2299920311

This was a super fun tour. I had read the book "The Allure of Immortality" by Lyn Miller about the cult before and it made the experience much more interesting!
