Brian and I had planned on going hiking at Petrifying Springs in Kenosha, WI on Thursday since the weather was finally warming up! When I arrived at his house after work we talked for a bit until he ran upstairs to get ready. (Little did I know, he was upstairs stuffing a book into his jacket & putting the ring in his coat pocket). After he was done, we headed over to “Pets” and went off the trail down by a stream. We walked for about 10 minutes before Brian announced that he needed to go the bathroom & went into the forrest. After he came back, we walked a bit further until Brian suggested we walk in the forest. There was not a clear path into the woods where we were at, so he recommended we go back a bit. He had placed a book he made titled “My Reasons Why” next to a tree. I walked past it without even noticing (it’s a BRIGHT blue book). After Brian stopped and said “what’s that?” and pointed in that direction twice, I finally saw it! I read the sweet book & the last page said that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with me. Then I turned around, and nothing! He had gotten nervous. After a few moments of silence, he asked me to read the last page again. Then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him! From his point of view, I did not answer right away and I said “are you for real?!” a bunch of times. But don’t worry, I said YES!
August Update: We are getting so close to the day! The wedding ceremony will be indoors wirh seating 6 feet apart and masks. (We will have masks available for you to use if you need one!). We also will have everyone use hand sanitizer as they enter the building. The reception will be outside under a tent. Since the reception is on a lake and the hall has large tent ceiling fans, it will be nice and cool! There also will be the option for indoor seating if you’d like to enjoy the air conditioning! All food will be indivdually packaged and served. We ask that if you are not feeling well that you please let us know and not come in order to keep everyone safe and healthy! We will be posting a video of the ceremony for those unable to attend the week after the wedding. July Update: As we get closer to August 15, Brian and I wanted to reiterate that we want all of our guests to feel comfortable, so if you feel more comfortable not coming please know that we completely understand. These are such crazy times! We will have lots of hand saniter available at the door along with masks at both the ceremony and the reception. At the reception there will be both indoor and outdoor seating. June Update: We were able to speak with our venue’s manager. At this point in time, it is looking like things will move forward as planned! The current restriction would only allow 50 guests, however we are confident that this restriction will change by August. We have made the necessary adjustments and will have both indoor and outdoor seating available at the Venue to promote the ability to social distance. We will keep you updated! May 2020: In light of COVID-19, we wanted to check in and let you know your health and safety are our top priority. We will keep you updated on any changes. Thank you for your patience!
