We're getting married!

It all started with a right swipe on Bumble on August 21, 2023. After a few days of nonstop texting and realizing how much we had in common, we decided it was time to meet in person. Our first date was on August 25, 2023, at Rick’s brother-in-law’s Carvel ice cream shop — which, coincidentally, happens to be Amy’s childhood favorite! Over a milk shake, a scoop of ice cream and a long walk along the river boardwalk, we spent hours talking about everything — our families, Rick’s son Sawyer, our goals, and our shared love for adventure. Just four days later, we found ourselves on our second date at Casa Amigos. We laughed, talked, and lost track of time so completely that we were still chatting away when the restaurant closed (and yes, we got politely kicked out!). The moment Amy agreed to go camping with Rick in his self-built square drop camper — just big enough for a single twin mattress — at Salt Springs on October 27, 2023, we both knew this was something special. As the weeks turned into months, it was time for Amy to meet Sawyer, and the two clicked instantly. Our families met over the holidays and everything just felt right. In September 2024, we decided to take on our biggest project yet — renovating and redesigning the little square drop camper together! We expanded it from 24 square feet to 55 square feet, complete with a queen bed, a twin bunk for Sawyer, and a rear galley kitchen. We managed to work through the challenges and pulled it off without killing each other — and if we didn’t already know we were meant to be, that project sealed the deal. Then, on February 13, 2025, Rick got down on one knee and asked Amy to marry him — and, of course, she said yes! We made it official and moved in together that June, ready to start the next chapter of our adventure together. From ice cream, campfires, camping, road trips and more! Every moment since has been filled with love, laughter, adventure and a sense that this was always meant to be.
