Uber is reliable in Kochi. Ola is another app widely used but you might need an local contact number for booking the ride. For short distances, Auto-Rickshaws are fun (agree on a fare or ask for the meter). For day trips, we recommend hiring a private car.
Temples/Churches if you are visiting one: Modest attire required (shoulders and knees covered). Wedding: Vibrant colors are encouraged! Avoid wearing all-black. In-general : Pack those linens and cottons, Kerala is humid, hot and also expects rain in August.
Kochi is in its peak monsoon season during July/August. Expect heavy, unpredictable rainfall and high humidity. We recommend carrying a sturdy umbrella or raincoat at all times. Outdoor plans may shift, so keep a flexible "Rainy Day" backup like café hopping or museum visits! Wear waterproof footwear due to puddles!
Major stores (like Jayalakshmi/Lulu) accept all cards. For small shops and rickshaws, keep some Cash or UPI (if available to you) handy. You can use Google Pay in most of the places(even street vendors).
