Seven years ago, a boy messaged a girl on the Internet and they fell head over heels in love. The conversation was started with grammatical errors, as the boy (who thought he was pretty clever) wanted to test this journalism major's skills. She, of course, was oblivious to the errors as she was just excited that this cute guy messaged her. Arash and Teresa's first date was on April 1st or April 2nd (depending on who you ask). They went for sushi and the rest is history. They fell madly in love, adopted a few cats along the way and now, they are excited to celebrate their love and happiness with family and friends.
The story begins with over a month of planning the ultimate surprise - a trip to Cabo! After buying tickets, arranging a hotel and planning activities, Arash secretly contacted Teresa's supervisor to request the time off. The night before the travel, he asked Teresa to pack her bags and unraveled the surprise. Once in Cabo, he had a plan to go on the most beautiful hike and propose with a view of the entire peninsula. The hike was closed to the public, but a local guide said he was happy let them through his property to access the mountain and to guide the initial part of the hike so the plan was set! The morning of the proposal came and they set off to meet the guide. After an hour of waiting, Arash received notice that the guide would not be able to make the hike due to an unforeseen accident :( Now it was time to play it by ear! It was still very early in the morning so they walked down to the pier and hopped on a water cab to take them around the peninsula to the various sites. On the way up, they boated by a few points of interest including a place called "Lover's Beach". It was an empty, remote beach on the Sea of Cortez that was screaming "PROPOSE HERE!" So after going through the other areas, Arash asked the boat captain to drop them off at the beach. They got dropped off and it was perfect. Completely secluded with not a person in sight... or so they thought. After 7 minutes of privacy, an endless stream of water taxies pulled up to the beach and dropped off family after family. Welp... time to adapt! Arash walked Teresa over to the other side of the beach which touched the Pacific Ocean and it was empty. It was here that he popped the question! They told this story to the boat captain on the ride back and he laughed. He explained that this side of the beach is "Lover's Beach" and the side that Arash had proposed on was locally named "Divorce Beach!" We're so excited to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you. See you in Phoenix!
