Daniel and I met at a quinceañera in Austin. He didn’t pay much attention to me, until our mutual friends dared him to ask a girl out to dance. I was already dancing when we he came up to me and asked “Do you want to dance with me?”. I felt weird saying no since I was already dancing, so I said, “I mean sure if you want to” For the remainder of the night, I had fun dancing with him and claimed him as my dance partner (even though he was trying to dance with other women). He later asked for my number and we have been going out ever since ( even though he took 3 days to contact me).
At the time, Daniel had just started a new job after not having worked for a while, but had been slowly saving up for a ring to propose. On Daniel's first day at the new job, he lost his wallet with all of the savings. The wallet was later returned, but had no money inside. Devastated, Daniel told God " Clearly you don't want me to get married, but if you do, then I'mma need a ring." Daniel continued with the rest of his day when he got a phone call from a friend asking for help to move out of his apartment. Daniel agreed to go help him out. When the day came to help him out, his friend said "I don't have any money to pay you with, but I can pay you with this ring" Daniel was shocked and denied the ring, but his friend insisted on giving it to him. At that moment, Daniel realized I needed to propose soon. He made several cards, each with a letter spelling out "Will you marry me?", and he would give her a letter each day leading up to her birthday, but he figured that would be too easy for her to figure out and she would catch on. So he threw random letters to try and confuse her. Once he handed her all of the letters after days of anticipation from her, she asked "What does it spell?" At that point, I removed the extra letters and asked her to try again. When she finished she turned and I was on my knees asking her, "Will you marry me?"
