2022 In-Person Wedding Reception

April 23rd, 2022

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are going to postpone our wedding reception until April 23rd, 2022. It will still be held at Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina. We are going to have an intimate wedding ceremony at the courthouse on April 22nd, 2021, then head to Belize for our honeymoon the following morning.

How We Met & Our First Date

We met in a 'modern' way, on Tinder! We instantly hit it off once we realized our obsession with certain movies and TV shows. I actually started watching Dexter so I could have something to chat about since Alex had raved about it so much. After 2 weeks of texting, we decided to grab dinner. We went to Firebirds and stayed for hours talking over beer and good steak. One thing that stood out to me about the date was that at the end of the night, it started raining, and Alex made me wait inside and pulled his car to the front of the restaurant because he didn't want my hair to get ruined.

How He Proposed

We had hiked Pigeon Island in St. Lucia 2 years ago, with my little sister. He took a panoramic picture of it and printed it on a canvas for above our fireplace as my Christmas Present. Little did I know, he was scheming the whole time to propose at that very spot whenever we returned. The first day on the beach when we returned to St. Lucia, Alex pressed to go hike that very spot. We went up, and chilled at the top while a couple of people were taking pictures (Turns out he was stalling and waiting for them to leave). He made me pose for a picture at the tallest rock, and then got down on one knee. It was intimate, thoughtful, and such a SURPRISE! I can't even remember if I said "yes" or not, I was smiling and crying so hard!
