We’re getting married!

We met through mutual friends, Chandler and Marina Rockett. Marina and I were in the Speech/Language Pathology program at the University of Montevallo together. Steven and Chandler work on the same fire department, Indian Ford Fire District.

I traveled to Alabama for the weekend so Steven and I could celebrate late Valentine's Day together. We went to eat at a nice restaurant, Firebirds. When we came back to his house the living room was decorated with rose petals, a vase of flowers on the coffee table, candles lit around the room, pictures of us hanging on the mantle, and music playing on the TV. (I still didn't think he was going to propose just thought it was something nice he did for Valentine's). He asked if I liked it and said he had one more surprise for me. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. I said yes right away! The ring was shiny and beautiful (I love shiny things). He started to put the ring on my index finger and I laughed and told him that was the wrong finger. We hugged and kissed and he said "Ok you can come out now". I asked who was there. Marina, Chandler, and their new puppy Coosa came out of Gabi's room. I was very surprised and happy to see them. Chandler took our engagement pictures and Marina posed us. We all had a little champagne to celebrate.
