They Swiped Right!

April 16, 2018

Like every millennial, they met online! OkCupid to be exact. Egged on by two of their closest friends who thought they were just pushing them out of their comfort zones towards a few fun dates, April and Nicole made brilliant profiles. Nicole's was about 5 concise, zany sentences about robots, and April's profile was the foreword to her autobiography. April shamelessly slid into Nicole's inbox with a cool, casual, "Hey!" And there it started! Now of course, Nicole played it cool and didn't respond for a full 36 hours. But the two were quickly smitten, and April soon realized that that 250 mile radius she set was in fact not just a 2-3 hour drive away (bad math, very bad math). Meeting for the first time on April's birthday, the two rarely missed a weekend together for a year.

So Yeah...This is a Lot of Driving

May 24, 2019

April and Nicole quickly realized that driving 12+ hours roundtrip each weekend was not sustainable (they really wanted to be in each other's faces 24-7), so they decided that April would move to Maryland. The move... well there's a whole story about that disaster but that didn't dissuade these two. Hold the U-Haul jokes for the wedding, please! One week before the move, U-Haul let them know that that 10ft truck they reserved wasn't available and instead they were assigned a 26ft truck. Nicole put on her, "Can I speak to your manager?!!" voice and got it moved down to a more manageable size, because you know, neither Nicole or April are professional truck drivers. And then... 12 hours before the move, the movers cancelled because April was 1 mile outside of their service radius. But April's work family came to the rescue and packed that truck in no time at all! They made it up I-95 and made a home together in Maryland with Precious, their extremely cute and extremely bad dog.

Just the Two

October 16, 2019

Nicole always knew April was the one. And though April pretended to need more convincing, she was the one who just couldn't contain herself and popped the question at the end of a quiet night at home--snuggled in bed after an exhausting evening of researching a Disney trip they never took. There was no ring. There are no pictures. It was just the two of their souls overwhelmed with their love for each other. And that alone was enough. This was the way they'd always made decisions, quietly and thoughtfully together. Waiting to share once they'd basked fully in their secret. And had it been the way they'd planned that night, none of you would even be reading this website. Instead there would have been some cute postcard announcing they'd eloped in Disney. They couldn't be happier with the decision to bring their love front and center to celebrate it as loudly as possible. They humbly invite you not just to their wedding, but into the community that will bless and nurture this union, forever and always.
