Poipu Beach Park
This beach has lots of options for snorkeling, swimming, kids, families, and picnics. The Poipu Beach Park has been voted the #1 beach in America and is right off the Sheraton Kauai Resort. Watch the turtles as they come in before sunset on shore.
Lydgate Beach Park
Lydgate Beach Park is located on the East side of Kauai adjacent to the Wailua River. The two rock enclosed ponds create a safe haven from the open ocean waves, while still allowing the small reef fish to move into the pond through the crevices. This spot will almost guarantee that you will see a variety of tropical fish. The protected calm waters posted lifeguard and variety of fish make this the perfect beginner beach for snorkeling.
Waimea Canyon State Park
Drive through the canyon and see the largest canyon in the Pacific. There are lookout points to stop at, and you can hike to see a waterfall.
Jurassic Park
We all love Jurassic Park and many of the movie’s iconic scenes are filmed in the Hawaiian Islands, including a lot on Kauai. The land itself will take you back in time, and visiting some of these places will put you on the edge of your seat.
