April and Delisha met in October of 2024 and their first date was hiking at Cedar Forest State Park. During this date they realized they and their families had both grown up in and around Watertown, with Delisha even being close friends with people April also knew or was related to.

April proposed to Delisha on the one year anniversary of their first date in Cedar Forest on the trail that they walked that day. She did so via the last love letter in a notebook full of hand written letters over the past year.
