I had given myself five years before I would date again following a heartbreaking breakup. I spent two years enjoying every moment of being single without a prospect in sight. I filled my days with laughter, friends and family time ( nearly forgot that I was single! lol ) and enjoyed just being happy being me. Years prior, I had chosen eden park as a place of refuge to spend time thinking about my life or as a place to take space when I needed me time. That single act of personal kindness would lead to two lives forever changed on June 19th 2018. Like I had done so many times over the years, I headed to the park to sit in the sun thanking God for the loving kindness that he has always shown me (I felt so grateful that day). I made my way to the duck pond to see the white ducks; ones that I had never seen before. I usually take a small bag of bread to feed the ducks when I go. As I was feeding the ducks, a man dressed in so much work attire that I could barely see his face, walked over to me and asked "Why are you feeding the ducks ?" I laughed and replied "because they are hungry !" This would start the first conversation that would lead to our first week of texting each other, which led to our first date. Up to this point I had never saw his face! The day comes and I'm not particularly enthusiastic about going out with a guy I met a week ago and had never seen the guys face! The destination was the Eagle, my favorite restaurant. I told myself before I went, "If this guy doesn't like me for me," I DON'T CARE. I put on the most basic outfit I could find, threw on my reading glasses, grabbed a pair of flats and reluctantly headed out the door. On the way there I kept telling myself how ugly he might be LOL ! When I arrived, I saw him before he saw me. My heart stopped! I took one look at him and instantly knew. I said out loud to myself, "OH MY GOD, THATS MY HUSBAND!" and as they say, the rest is history. We have been inseparable for nearly six years and have added four fur babies to our little family. We have our up's and down's like anyone else, but the love that we share is like no other love that we have ever experienced. Thank you so much for being a part of our love story!
