FAQs

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

The dress code is semi-formal. Wear what makes you feel good & comfortable. No jeans please, (and no white.) The ceremony will be outdoors if weather permits ie if it’s not a blizzard. Please dress with this in mind, (especially kids!) However, the cocktail hour will be indoors if it’s cold and the reception will be indoors starting at 5:30 regardless of weather. Warm blankets and hot drinks will be provided if the weather is chilly.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4pm. Please arrive between 3:30-3:55.

Answer

Italian food, served buffet style. There will be will a gluten free, vegan option for those with dietary restrictions. There will also be lots of kid-friendly options (mac & cheese, fruit, juice, etc.)

Question

Can my kids come?

Answer

YES! The bride and groom politely ask that guests supervise their children for the duration of the event to ensure everyone is safe and has a lovely time. There will be a kids area with crafts and snacks to keep them busy if they get bored.

Question

Are you having a wedding party?

Answer

Alex and April have opted out of the formal wedding party. They will have have close friends and family who will accompany them in the getting ready process. Alex's brother, Adam, will stand up with him at the ceremony as his Best Man. April's sister, Sierra, and her cousin, Tenae, will stand by her side during the ceremony as well.

Question

What can I get you as a wedding gift?

Answer

The bride and groom own a home together, therefore, they are not creating a typical “registry.” They will gratefully accept monetary gifts and cards, as they continue to make improvements to their home and save for future babies.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

The venue is in the west side of Golden where there is not a whole lot of lodging. The bride and groom and close family will be staying in Black Hawk, however, they would recommend staying in Golden especially if you are from out of town and will need Ubers/Lyft. (There are almost no rideshare drivers in Black Hawk, and they tend to be very expensive with longer waits.) There are many hotels in downtown Golden which is about a 20 minute ride from the venue.

Question

Will there be an open bar?

Answer

Yes. Please drink responsibly and ensure you have a safe ride home. Cars may be parked over night on the street in front, not in the lot or your vehicle will get locked in.

Question

What time does the reception end?

Answer

9pm.
