We have actually known (of) each other since elementary school, but it wasn’t until high school (junior year for Parker and senior year for April) that we started to notice each other. You could say we had some serious chemistry from the start because we were in the same AP chemistry class. We started dating on November 1, 2010 and the rest is history! ❤️
One weekend in January, we decided to take a trip to Athens, GA. I (April) went to school at UGA, so we spent a lot of time there during my undergrad and graduate studies. Parker was (and still is) so sweet back then because he would visit me every weekend. Seriously: he came up every single weekend while he was going to school in Milledgeville and later Atlanta. If you know anything about us, you know that we are serious homebodies, so when Parker pushed the idea of a weekend getaway, I had a feeling that something was up. I instantly texted a few close friends, telling them, “it’s happening!!” We then proceeded to have a super fun and romantic weekend in one of our favorite cities, but to my surprise, there was no proposal. Now, keep in mind that at this point in time, we had been together for 10 years and there was a lot of talk of marriage. I knew he was going propose soon, so when he didn’t, I was slightly disappointed. However, when we got back to our apartment in Atlanta, as I was unpacking from the trip, I turn around to see Parker down on one knee. He told me that he just couldn’t find the right time while we were in Athens, but I think his timing was absolutely perfect. Obviously there were a lot of tears (you all know I’m a crier) and a resounding YES! We can’t wait to celebrate this next chapter in our lives with you! See you in Hawaii!
