A few months before Christmas, I got an old book and used an x-acto knife to go through through page-by-page and hollow out a space within it to hide a ring box. . Each day I would carve a few more pages out of the thick book. And each night I would secretly dispose of the evidence bit by bit, Shawshank-style. . Finally the day came. I gave her the book as her final Christmas gift, and as she opened it up I got down on one knee. I had "Somewhere in my Memory" (the Home Alone song by John Williams) playing on our speakers while I gave a little speech and she said yes!
Rob and I first met when I was a sophomore at Fitchburg State University. We met through mutual friends and I felt an instant connection with him. One of our first interactions involved me asking if I could sit next to him and him responding "seat's taken" quoting Forrest Gump, and I knew this was the man for me. Over the following months we became friends and realized how much we truly had in common and on June 9th, 2013 Rob asked me to officially be his girlfriend. The rest, as they say, is history
