Mehndi + Sangeet

-------------------------------------

This evening combines two of the most festive pre-wedding traditions. The Mehndi celebrates the art of henna, and while the bride’s designs will already be complete, guests are invited to have their own henna applied as part of the festivities. The Sangeet is a night filled with music, dance, and joy. We will come together to perform exciting dances and celebrate the union of two families. It’s a lively, colorful evening of laughter, rhythm, and togetherness as we kick off the wedding celebrations. Dress in bright, festive colors that reflect joy! Indian or Western attire is welcome, as long as it’s colorful, fun, and easy to move in. We kindly ask guests to avoid wearing black, and instead embrace bold hues that light up the night!

Haldi

-----------------------------------

The Haldi ceremony is a joyful pre-wedding ritual where a turmeric-based paste is applied to the bride and groom by their loved ones. It’s believed to bless the couple, bring good luck, and give a natural glow before the big day. Expect lots of laughter and a whole lot of love! Yellow and gold hues are traditional and the preferred color to wear! Keep it light, comfortable, and fun, and don’t forget: this is one event where getting splashed is part of the celebration!

Hindu Ceremony

-----------------------------------

The Hindu wedding ceremony will last around one hour and is symbolic celebration filled with rituals that honor family and tradition. We will have a wonderful guide to explain each step, so you can follow along and truly experience the significance of the moment. In Indian tradition, weddings are guided by muhurtham—an auspicious time chosen by a priest according to the couple’s horoscopes. Morning hours are often considered especially sacred, symbolizing purity, light, and new beginnings. By celebrating our marriage at this time, we honor a tradition that has been followed for generations, inviting blessings of harmony and prosperity as we begin our life together. We kindly ask guests to dress in a way that is modest, respectful, and festive. Wear light, colorful attire and please avoid deep necklines, high slits, sheer fabrics, black, and red. Traditional Indian outfits are not mandatory. Any elegant and modest outfit is welcome!

Exchange of Vows

-----------------------------------

While we will be honoring tradition with a Hindu wedding ceremony, we also wish to share a personal moment with all of you. Instead of a grand entrance, we’ve chosen to open our reception by exchanging vows—a meaningful way for us to express our love and commitment in front of the people who mean the most to us. We hope this intimate beginning sets the tone for a joyful evening of celebration.

Reception

-----------------------------------

After sharing our vows, we’ll kick off the evening with incredible food, joyful energy, and plenty of dancing. From the first bite to the last song, we want this night to be filled with laughter, love, and unforgettable memories. Let’s celebrate and have the night of our lives together!
