Our StoryOur Story

07 /08 / 2021

Isaiah and I met through gaming and mutual friends, long before romance ever crossed my mind. The very first time I saw him on video chat, I thought to myself, “A guy like him would never date a girl like me.” I had no idea then just how wrong I was—how beautifully wrong. We started as friends, the kind of friends who could spend hours talking, laughing, and sharing little pieces of life. During one of my hardest seasons, Isaiah became my safe place. He made me laugh when I wanted to cry, listened without judgment, and accepted every part of me. Somewhere along the way, friendship grew into something deeper. Isaiah asked me to be his girlfriend once—and I said no. But he didn’t walk away. He stayed. He listened. He cared. And on July 8, 2021, when he asked again, I said yes without hesitation. When we finally met in person that November, it was love at first sight. I knew, without a doubt, he was the one. Our first date at Sammy’s—where Isaiah ordered sixteen wings—was the beginning of a love language built on shared meals and laughter. That trip also gave him the chance to meet my Popo, a memory I will always hold close. In July 2022, I moved out on my own for the first time, bringing my cats Starburst and Socks, as we worked toward bringing Isaiah to Texas. That August, I flew to Florida to meet his wonderful parents, Angel and Jeremy, before returning home with Isaiah to start our life together in our first little apartment in Goliad, TX. By March 2023, we’d outgrown that space and found our true home in Victoria, TX—where we would continue to build our life, dream our dreams, and grow closer than ever. Then came June 19, 2025. My grandmother, Momo, passed away just before my birthday trip—the trip where Isaiah had planned to propose. With my mom’s help, he had arranged the most beautiful surprise: a beach proposal, surrounded by my sisters, cousins, and aunt. Though Momo couldn’t be there, I’m forever grateful she knew I was getting engaged before she left us. Now, as I look at Isaiah, I see not just the man I love, but my best friend, my safe place, and my greatest blessing. I can’t wait to grow old together—hand in hand, heart to heart—for the rest of our lives.
