After matching on Tinder in the summer of 2016, it wasn't long before our first date at the Florida Aquarium on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Andrew greeted me at my car with an umbrella and the first words that came out of his mouth were "How do you pronounce your name?" This made me smile. He was off to a great start LOL! We went on to explore the Aquarium and then grabbed smoothies at Cold Stone. Yes, SMOOTHIES. I guess we were afraid of the potential mess that comes with chowing down on some Birthday Cake Remix on the first date. After we said our goodbyes, I remember sitting in my car thinking about him and replaying our conversations in my head. Before pulling out of the parking lot, I received a text which read, "I had a really great time with you today. I can't wait to see you again!" Butterflies...I couldn't wait to see him again either.
When deciding on a place to pop the question , it only felt right to bring her back to where our journey started. It had been 4 years since our first date at the aquarium. We got an early start that morning in order to get there before it got too crowded. I didn’t tell her where we were going. When we got there it was basically empty. We walked around for a bit before entering the room with the big tank. I took her up to glass, got down on a knee, she said "YES" and just like that we were engaged! As if that wasn't a big enough surprise, both our families were there to witness. Tears of joy filled the room To be able to share that moment in front of our families, at the place we first met, made for an incredibly special moment that I’ll never forget.
