Hi, everyone!

We are so excited to be getting married, and we hope this website will be helpful to everyone wanting to be a part of it. We’ve tried to streamline things by putting everything in one place - RSVP, registry, the schedules for our two important days, answers to questions you may have, travel info, a ‘get-to-know-us’ page, and a gallery of some of Ethan’s & my favorite pictures - just use the tabs at the top of this page. Be sure to RSVP as soon as you know if you’ll be able to join us on our wedding and/or sealing day, and have fun exploring the rest of our site, too! Love, Anya & Ethan

From Friendship to Dating

Hey! Anya here to tell you a little bit about how our story started! Ethan and I met early in the fall semester of 2023 when we were in the same young adult ward at Brigham Young University. We became part of the same awesome friend group, and we had a blast at things like game nights, movie nights, country swing dancing, rugby games, and - in the second half of the school year - groggily going to the gym together early in the morning. This was a time where we were getting to know each other better and becoming more comfortable with one another, but at this point we were purely friends. (Although Ethan now admits that he thought about asking me out a time or two throughout the school year, and by the end of the school year I had started wondering if he liked me!) Early in the summer following that school year is when we started realizing something beyond friendship was there. Funnily enough, after having been around each other pretty much every day for an entire school year, it was when we were several states away from each other that we came to this realization. We began doing FaceTime calls while Ethan was in California for a summer sales job and I was establishing myself in Provo, Utah after graduating. A few weeks later and we were officially dating, calling each other every day. One of the funny details of our relationship is that because of the long distance, we actually didn't end up going on our first in-person date until after we were officially dating! Our relationship grew into love while we supported each other through the uncertainties of new jobs, difficulties in our families, and the general trials and triumphs of becoming independent adults. After Ethan returned to Provo for the next school year, we enjoyed being able to spend lots of time together, working on strengthening our relationship, and having loads of fun! The new year brought more serious talk of a future together, and we began individually seeking spiritual confirmation that we should marry each other. We were both thrilled when we each received our 'yes' from Heavenly Father! After a year and one month of dating, Ethan popped the question, but he'll tell you more about that... We're so excited to start the rest of our forever together, and we're so happy you'll be celebrating with us!

The Proposal till Now

Hi everyone, Ethan here! After Anya and I received our spiritual confirmations and decided we wanted to marry each other, we hunted around some of Provo’s ring shops so I could get a better idea of what kind of ring she wanted! This was pretty close to the summer and since I was planning to be out doing a second round of summer sales, I decided I needed that ring fast. Doing my best to keep my activities a secret, I enlisted the help of one of Anya’s roommates to drive me to a ring shop since I didn’t have a car at the time. I had a ton of fun designing her custom ring from the different elements she had liked during our search the week before and then got the ring back a couple days before I officially left for the summer. I planned to propose during Anya’s annual family beach trip that happens during the summertime so I had to keep the fact that I had the ring top secret, which was a lot harder than I expected - I kept wanting to tell her how excited I was to propose, but there was no way I would let it slip. I managed to convince her that I didn’t even have the ring yet before I left so that she would let her guard down when I flew out to be at that beach trip. I wanted to set up a way for the proposal to be super romantic so I called Anya’s mom, Bethany, to help me out. I happened to mention to Anya that we had no nice pictures and that I wanted to get some while we were at such a beautiful spot. She totally ran with it and ended up coordinating outfits, researching the best picture time so we could get the sunset, and since she was there a few days before me, she even scouted out locations with her mom to take pictures. She had no idea she was looking for where she would later get engaged! That morning, I talked with her dad, Mark, to ask for his blessing and we had an amazing conversation about the future. Then, we were set! I popped the question at a beautiful spot to my beautiful girl and she of course responded with an enthusiastic yes. After some incredible photos that Bethany took and a ton of celebrating with Anya's family, we were officially ready to begin planning for the wedding and the rest of our lives! I finished up my summer sales job and for the last few months we have been planning our wedding. It's been a whirlwind sometimes, but we wouldn't have traded this time for anything. We've been preparing for marriage, too, and growing continually more excited to spend the rest of our lives together! We are so excited to celebrate that with you at our wedding! Hope to see you there!
