For the wedding, we recommend Indian or Western formal attire, whichever you feel most comfortable in! This could be a cocktail dress, longer dress, jumpsuit, pantsuit, lehenga, anarkali or salwar suit, saree, a jacket and button down shirt, suit and tie, sherwani, or kurta set. We want everyone to have fun and be comfortable so no worries if your children would prefer to wear something more casual! For the welcome dinner, the recommended dress code is Indian or Western smart casual- sundresses, jeans and a nice blouse, lighter lehengas and sarees, Indo-Western outfits, polos and khakis, and lighter kurta sets would all be perfect!
Yes! For our event in the Dellums Building, we recommend parking in the Lower Lot with overflow to the front parking structure in front of the main entrance. To reach the lower lot, enter at the main entrance and continue driving straight past the front parking structure and the museum. The lot is located in the back right next to our event space!
Cell reception can be spotty because of our venue's location in the redwood forest and hills. However, Chabot offers free Wi-fi and phone access to call taxis, shuttles, and ride share services. The Wi-fi ID is "Chabot-Guest".
Yes! We've blocked rooms at the Residence Inn Berkeley- it's walkable to tons of shops and restaurants as well as the Berkeley BART station! Because it's a Residence Inn, each room includes a living room and kitchen. Your presence is our present! No gifts, please- we are so excited to celebrate with you! If you must do something, we'd love for you to make a donation to DPS (Doggie Protective Services)- they are the rescue we've been fostering dogs with!
